As with most international schools that offer IB programmes, the minimum age requirement for KG1 at JBS is 4 years (by 31 December of the entry year). Therefore students in Grade 1 are aged 6, students sitting their IGCSE examinations at the end of Grade 10 are aged 15+ (the same age as those students in British curriculum schools, except there the students will have completed Year 11 as opposed to Grade 10 at JBS), and those sitting their IB examinations at the end of Grade 12 are aged 17+.
