Jenny Smith - G3 - Falcons
Jenny graduated from Victoria University in her home town of Wellington, New Zealand in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Literature and Latin. She followed this with a post graduate study at Auckland University in primary school teaching. After graduating from Auckland University, Jenny went on to teach in a multi cultural school in South Auckland. She taught there for three years and gained valuable experience teaching students from Grade 2 to Grade 5. Jenny then moved to the United Arab Emirates and has been teaching Grade 1 at the Sharjah American International School for the past three years. Although Jenny's main educational area of interest is literacy, she is also passionate about teaching thinking skills to children across the primary age range.
Akilla Rattansi - G1 - Bears
Akilla graduated from the University of Warwick, UK in June 2006, with a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Mathematics. After completing her four year degree at Warwick, she moved back to London to carry out her NQT year at Newton Farm Nursery, as the class teacher for Grade 4. During this time, Akilla embarked on an International Project entitled 'Webplay', which linked her class with a class in New York. The Project involved developing the pupils' Literacy, Drama, ICT and Emotional Literacy. In August 2007, Akilla relocated to Dubai and joined an International School where she has worked as a Key Stage One class teacher. Akilla is joining JBS as a Primary Class Teacher
