anisa sutchAnisa Sutch

After nine months of travelling around Australia, Anisa attended the University of Plymouth for four years and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Education degree, specialising in Music. Her first post was in a large, primary school in Bournemouth where she spent three successful years teaching Grade 4. During this time, she held the position of 'Out of School Activities Coordinator' since her other passion is P.E. Her love of travelling brought her to the UAE in 2008. She has been working in Abu Dhabi at The Pearl Primary School for the past two years as a Grade 4 teacher. She loves the outdoors and using up her energy playing sport.


joanna douglasJoanna Douglas

Joanna graduated from Kingston University in 2001 with a BA Honours degree in Primary Teaching, specialising in Geography and History. While in the UK she worked for six years in a high achieving multi-cultural London Borough school. She worked in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and was the Humanities Coordinator as well as a teacher governor.  Joanna has been in Dubai for three years teaching Grades 1, 2 and 5 in an International School, holding positions of responsibility as Grade 5 Coordinator and Numeracy and ICT Coordinator within the Primary Department. She has also been an active member of the school Parent and Teacher Association. In her spare time, Joanna enjoys swimming, socialising and cooking.


jenny smithJenny Smith

Jenny graduated from Victoria University in her home town of Wellington, New Zealand in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Literature and Latin. She followed this with a post graduate study at Auckland University in primary school teaching. After graduating from Auckland University, Jenny went on to teach in a multi cultural school in South Auckland. She taught there for three years and gained valuable experience of teaching students from Grade 2 all of the way through to Grade 5. Jenny then moved to the United Arab Emirates and has been teaching Grade 1 at the Sharjah American International School for the past three years. Although Jenny's main educational area of interest is literacy, she is also passionate about teaching thinking skills to children across the primary age range.

Akilla graduated from the University of Warwick, UK in June 2006, with a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Mathematics. After completing her four year degree at Warwick, she moved back to London to carry out her NQT year at Newton Farm Nursery, as the class teacher for Grade 4. During this time, Akilla embarked on an International Project entitled 'Webplay', which linked her class with a class in New York. The Project involved developing the pupils' Literacy, Drama, ICT and Emotional Literacy. In August 2007, Akilla relocated to Dubai and joined an International School where she has worked as a Key Stage One class teacher. Akilla is joining JBS as a Primary Class Teacher.
